A Multi-Faith Summit on Domestic Violence

Leaders of faith communities are often the first to be called upon for support and guidance when domestic abuse occurs. This summit, guided by a multi-faith advisory council, provides a forum for dialogue and collaboration amongst faith leaders to broaden their knowledge regarding domestic abuse.

September 2, 2015  Depelchin Children’s Center in Houston

9:00 am – 1:00 pm, Free, lunch provided

SUMMIT GOALS:

  • To provide appropriate tools to faith communities to enhance their response to the needs of victims and abusers needing assistance
  • To provide resources and best practices to ensure victim safety
  • To equip participants with training and resources to continue the dialogue with other faith leaders, counselors, etc. within their communities
  • To help participants identify warning signs of abuse, understand tactics for control, and make appropriate referrals
